Developing Asian countries are now emerging as one of the most visited destinations for cosmetic surgery abroad. Countries such as Korea, Singapore, Japan, India, the Philippines, and Thailand are growing in popularity making Asian cosmetic surgery one of your best choices. This growth is primarily due to the availability of affordable, yet high quality, procedures performed by highly qualified and experienced surgeons in these countries.

Although the term “Asian cosmetic surgery” was formerly known to mean surgeries conducted on individuals with Asian origins, it has now evolved to mean surgical procedures conducted in Asia.

Many individuals from western countries flock to many Asian countries for cosmetic surgery. Cosmetic procedures in Asia are usually a fraction of the price of western countries without sacrificing the quality of the facilities utilized or the qualifications and expertise of the surgeons performing the procedure.

Common cosmetic surgeries such as face lift, rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, body reshaping procedures, and breast augmentation surgeries are readily available and often performed in Korea, Singapore, Japan, India, the Philippines and Thailand.

In fact, Thailand is now becoming one of the leading destinations in transsexual surgeries in the world. For this reason, Thailand owns the largest market share of Asian cosmetic surgery procedures. Trailing close behind is India, which is considered to have the cheapest price tag in the cosmetic surgery industry. Another popular destination is the Philippines. Their prices are not much more than India and the people are friendly and speak English quite well.

South Korea has opened its doors to foreign investors by allowing the establishment and operation of foreign hospitals and medical facilities in its Free Economic Zones. In addition, it is also looking into getting a big share of the Asian cosmetic surgery market with its plan of developing a world class medical tourism facility hub on an entire island. It is said to have allocated US $315 Million for this project.
